MARBLE MOUNTAIN SKI RESORT, STEADY BROOK, NL

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Lift Mechanic you will conduct preventative maintenance, inspections, cleaning, repairs and troubleshooting for a network of 5 lifts including 1 detachable, 2 fixed grips and two conveyors helping ensure uninterrupted lift operation. You will work closely with the senior management team to plan and budget projects and resources. Reports to and takes duties from the general manager and Outside Operations Project
Manager.

PRIMARY RESPOSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Maintaining of Equipment, Marble assets, outside operations housings
• Ensure safe work practices and follow safe work legislated guidelines
• Reporting unsafe activity to your supervisors
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical journal specifications & procedures
• Possess a valid Newfoundland driver’s license
• Comfortable operating, snowmobile, UTV, ATV and related equipment on uneven ground
• Comfortable climbing towers and performing work at heights
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Strong prioritization skills
• Prepared to work flexible schedules e.g., weekends, holidays, extended hours
• Perform pre-start inspections, startup and shut down procedures
• Perform scheduled maintenance, inspection, and repairs on the resort’s lift system
• Complete accurate and consistent record keeping in an efficient and timely manner
• Diagnose electrical issues with ski lifts
• Provide assistance with additional operational tasks as required

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• May be required to work in environments requiring personal protective equipment
• May be exposed to dust, chemicals and high levels of noise, electrical
• Must be willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Must have the ability to read and write the English language
• Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 pounds
• Indoor and Outdoor operations setting at a Premier Ski Resort

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post secondary electrical would be an asset
• Red Seal Electrical Certificate preferred
• Highly mechanically inclined
• Current working knowledge of the Health and Safety Code and OHS
• WHIMIS training
• Fall Arrest Training
• Able to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Able and willing to climb lift towers and work above ground
