Human Resources Manager

Position Summary:

Marble Mountain Resort is Atlantic Canada’s premier winter sports destination, and is currently transforming into a four season tourism and events operation.  The Resort is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join the management team and lead all aspects of the recruitment, training and human resources management functions to support ongoing operations and the successful transition to a four season operation.


Reporting to the General Manager, and working with the senior management team, industry and community partners, the Human Resources Manager will:

  • Research and identify human resource requirements to execute existing and emerging operational staff requirements;
  • Develop and implement human resources policies, procedures and employee handbooks that support the goals and vision for the Resort and comply with the current Collective Agreement;
  • Manage the transition from a largely seasonal to year round workforce;
  • Identify skills gaps and lead the development and delivery of training plans and programs for Marble’s workforce;
  • Create and maintain a positive employee relations environment, including proactive communication, conflict resolution, and employee recognition programs;
  • Plan and deliver job fairs and other recruitment activities to meet workforce needs
  • Manage the performance management program, including goal setting, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions;
  • Develop and deliver training and development programs for all employees, including leadership development, team building, and technical training;
  • Implement a scheduling program to ensure the availability of the right staff complement for all ongoing and emerging operations, as well as special events;
  • Manage all aspects of the human resources and labour relations functions at Marble Mountain.


  • Five or more years in a human resource management role;
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a HR Management or related role would be an asset;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast changing environment;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
