JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Hostess to greet our guests as they arrive at our establishment and help provide them with a positive experience from beginning to end. The ideal candidate will be customer-oriented and able to welcome and seat customers in a timely manner, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant and help seat them at their tables
• Manage the waiting list and quoted wait times for walk-in guests
• Assist servers with seating and table assignments throughout the shift
• Manage phone reservations and take messages for managers or other team members
• Answer guests’ questions about menu items and restaurant service
• Manage reservations lists, availability, and time slots
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of reservations, special events, and VIP pageantry
• Contribute to the cleanliness and overall tidiness of the restaurant and greeting area
• Provide assistance to other team members as needed to improve the guest experience
• Perform any other essential duties as assigned by a manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience as a host/hostess or server or a similar customer-facing role in the restaurant industry
• Warm and welcoming personality with excellent communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of standard restaurant procedures and customer service practices
• Ability to stand and work through a shift, which might involve being on your feet for long periods
• Familiarity with restaurant reservations and waitlist systems, as well as Point of Sale (POS) systems
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
