Rugged Shores is a traditional/folk band based on the east coast of Newfoundland, which first began in 2009.This upbeat group is able to create the greatest party atmosphere, mainly because they are having so much fun themselves on stage! Rugged Shores are able to provide all of your favourite traditional music selections, as well as their own renditions of well-loved songs from other genres and also some of their own well-received original music. The band has some of the most accomplished musicians on the island with a dynamic vocal range that can bring you to tears with a sorrowful Irish ballad, or lead the crowd in the most rousing, foot stomping sing-a-longs! Rugged Shores is a five-piece band consisting of Evan Aucoin, Rowan Sherlock, Jim Feehan, Jeff Kinsman and Bryan Efford.

Both natives of Newfoundland, The Punters are key figures emerging from the exciting music scene found in Atlantic Canada. Drawing upon their rich musical heritage, The Punters combine rock, folk, pop and traditional music, creating a sound that is truly their own. Music has been the driving force in the lives of each of The Punters. Larry’s singing, writing, and performing careers all began in 1989 when he embraced traditional music while at St. F.X.U. and later when studying in Ireland. Patrick has been playing fiddle since the age of six and can also play a mean guitar, though not at the same time. The Punters are highly energetic and entertaining musicians who have performed hundreds of shows from festivals to theaters to clubs to Microsoft’s first live web-cast on the Internet. The Punters are versatile, talented artists who perform with style and proficiency. Whether they are driving a traditional folk tune or delivering their melodic and insightful originals, their performances are always powerful and entertaining. The Punters have three recordings under their belt since 1995 (The Punters, Said She Couldn’t Dance & Will You Wait), all three of which were met with national and critical acclaim. Fisherman’s Blues, the band’s fourth CD, is a testament to the strength and relevance of their musicianship and their unrelenting passion for the music of Newfoundland. Their newest CD Fisherman’s Blues, which is self produced, delivers a redefined sense of direction that is true to their roots (a little bit traditional & a little bit Rock N’ Roll). The CD showcases the band’s growth and maturity, with a selection of pop songs, traditional songs and their trademark instrumental tunes.
