JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate cook to join our team in the kitchen. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring food quality, and maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in high-pressure environments, excellent knowledge of cooking techniques and cuisines, and a strong concern for food safety and hygiene.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare a variety of dishes in a timely manner according to customer requests and internal orders
- Set up workstations with ingredients and cooking equipment
- Ensure that each dish is cooked and presented according to the recipe and high-quality standards of the establishment
- Monitor food stock and place orders for replenishment
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations while handling and preparing food items
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by adhering to cleaning schedules and keeping equipment clean
- Work with the kitchen team to ensure customer orders are filled accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with management to develop new dishes and menu items according to customer preferences and trends
- Perform other relevant duties as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven work experience as a cook or chef in a fast-paced restaurant or kitchen
- Ability to prepare a variety of dishes using different cooking techniques and cuisines
- In-depth knowledge of food safety and handling regulations
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and their usage
- Experience in developing new recipes and menu items
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a team environment under strict deadlines
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
